The Grand Traverse County Democratic Party's Annual Truman Day Dinner and Silent Auction will be held at 6:00 P.M., Saturday, October 3, 2009, at the Park Place Hotel Dome, 300 East State Street, Traverse City.

The speakers include:   Dan Kildee, President of the Genesee Institute, a research and training institute focusing on Smart Growth, Urban Land Reform and Land Banking.  In 2008, Kildee was the winner of the "Excellence in Land Use Leadership" award by the Michigan State University Land Policy Institute.

  Jocelyn Benson - candidate for Secretary of State.  Ms. Benson is an election law expert and an Assistant Professor of Law at Wayne State University Law School.
